In summer of 2015 we did a Bikepacking trip from Berlin to Cologne, here in Germany.
The total distance was about 700km and it took us 9 days. With a few days left we did enjoy cologne with our friends and visited my old buddy Laufbursche.
It was a nice trip with again awesome impressions of nature and cities we never visited before.
We also visited friends in Rathenow, Wolfsburg, Paderborn and Höxter and had nice evenings or even days with them showing us their environment. This is what I love about our big Bikepacking trips, exploring nature and urban places, meeting people, listening to stories, tell your own and enjoy the atmosphere.
At the end we got back to Berlin by train.
I made a shortmovie and fotocollages again so that you can get an impression of the trip and the gear.
You can find a packing list at the end of the article too.
Here’s the shortmovie
Bike + Gear
If it gets cold and you don’t have a long pants…
In Lüdenscheit we were actually allowed to take the bikes inside the restaurant because it was not safe enough to let them stay outside with all the gear, big thanks to Hubertus restaurant.
In Warstein we visited the city’s own brewery and tried their new flavours. They also had an own campsite where we stayed for the night.
Finally we finished our Bikepacking trip at the dome in cologne.
I can hardly wait to do the next big trip!
